South Central Railways Step-Motherly Treatment of Telugu

South Central Railway Zone is the largest in area and highest in income earning. It has 6 divisions, out of which 5 are located in Telugu areas. ( Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Guntakal, Guntur, Vijayawada and Nanded in Mahatashtra ). The zone is in Telugu area and earning from Telugu people and using resources of Telugu people to grow. But it is totally neglecting Telugu and giving step motherly treatment to Telugu.

See Southern Railways, though it is spread in Tamil Nadu and Kerala is using Tamil in all possible areas along with Hindi and English.

SCR is totally ignoring Telugu, may be consciously and not at all using Telugu in areas where is desired and required. Within Telugu area and is averse to use Telugu.

All the notices in the trains, regarding safety norms, eve teasing, cleanliness, police contact etc are in Hindi and English even in the trains that start and end in Telugu area. It is laughable that you have to learn these languages to follow the instructions and if you know only Telugu, you need not follow.

Even in trains like Tirumala Express, Godavari Express Etc, the station arrival and departure timings affixed in side the bogies are only in Hindi and English. And this it self sufficient to say that SCR is giving step motherly treatment to Telugu and is scuttling development of Telugu.

Some 30 years back manually printed tickets are used to have To and From in Telugu, Hindi and English. 20 years back even computer printed tickets used to have all three languages. Now you can find that Railways is issuing tickets only in Hindi and English languages and ignoring Telugu. If you know only Telugu, you do not know whether ticket is issued for correct destination or not.

All the above things in this computerized environment, will cost nothing but SCR is willfully avoiding Telugu. The zone should immediately implement Telugu in at least responsible areas.

Demand will be sent to GM & DRMs of South Central Railways
