Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi founded under the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust, in 1961. The institute has grown as a eminent educational spot in the Capital of India
But Telugu flavor was slowly faded away and has totally become alien to Telugu people and Andhra Pradesh even though is managed by TTD. The Telugu courses were discontinued in 2013.
Now the AP government wanted it to be affiliated to Andhra University and it is a pity that when Telugu soul was lost, how any body can recognize, it belongs to Andhra or Telugu people.
In order to reclaim the past glory, TTD and College should implement following points,
- At least sign boards in Telugu along with English at the main entrances
- Printing of college name in Telugu along with English on letter heads
- Re introduction of Telugu courses by encouraging the students with special monthly stipends
- And conducting free Telugu language training classes and issuing certificates to eligible candidates
All the above acts will help itself to establish that it belongs to TTD and to Telugu people. We hope a small initiation is required from TTD and the Administration of the College as no one can object or objected previously.
