APSPDCL and TSSPDCL Websites and Electricity Bill SMS are not in Telugu

Now a days APSPDCL (Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Corporation Ltd) sends its Electricity Bill to consumers directly by way of SMS to their registered mobile and receives payments also by clicking the link given there through, various payment gate ways.

The SMS is completely in English and there is no meaning of this SMS if the consumer do not know English. Electricity is being used from a uneducated layman to foreign educated rich fellows. There is no meaning in sending such SMS only in English and not in Telugu. How a poor fellow can know the details of charges and units consumed, and what is the link to be clicked.

When APSPDCL has to serve crores of its customer, is sending SMS in English and defeating very basic purpose of the communication since it is not in Telugu. It will not cost much also if SMS is given in both the languages.

And also it is pathetic to note that the websites of APSPDCL (Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Corporation Ltd) and TSSPDCL (Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Corporation Ltd) are only in English and a literate (Telugu) has to feel as an illiterate and beg others for guidance and action.

We demand APSPDCL and TSSPDCL to take immediate steps to send all SMSs compulsorily in Telugu and should make available the Telugu version of their official websites.

Let Telugu flourish at Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi

Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi founded under the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust, in 1961. The institute has grown as a eminent educational spot in the Capital of India

But Telugu flavor was slowly faded away and has totally become alien to Telugu people and Andhra Pradesh even though is managed by TTD. The Telugu courses were discontinued in 2013.

Now the AP government wanted it to be affiliated to Andhra University and it is a pity that when Telugu soul was lost, how any body can recognize, it belongs to Andhra or Telugu people.

In order to reclaim the past glory, TTD and College should implement following points,

  1. At least sign boards in Telugu along with English at the main entrances
  2. Printing of college name in Telugu along with English on letter heads
  3. Re introduction of Telugu courses by encouraging the students with special monthly stipends
  4. And conducting free Telugu language training classes and issuing certificates to eligible candidates

All the above acts will help itself to establish that it belongs to TTD and to Telugu people. We hope a small initiation is required from TTD and the Administration of the College as no one can object or objected previously.

National Helath Portal not in Telugu

National Health Portal (NHP) is the portal designed, developed and hosted by Centre for Health Informatics (CHI), set up at National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has set up the National Health Portal in pursuance to the decisions of the National Knowledge Commission, to provide healthcare related information to the citizens of India and to serve as a single point of access for consolidated health information. The National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) has established Centre for Health Informatics to be the secretariat for managing the activities of the National Health Portal.

Goal of this portal is “Gateway to authentic health information for all”, but the portal gives information in few languages like English, Hindi, Gujarathi, Bangla, Tamil and Punjabi and ignores 3rd largest spoken language in India that is Telugu. It is also a dominant language of southern part of India and spoken in more than one state with 10 crore speakers.

We request and demand you to implement the portal in Telugu language also to disseminate authentic health information to all Telugu known people of India for better reach of your Department Goal.
